10 Most Hair Damaging Things

In an everyday life we aren’t thinking about what can damage our hair. We know general rules of hair care, choose right cosmetics and try not to weight them down and we think it’s enough. Undermentioned ranking of things, which are most damaging to our hair may come as a surprise to you. What shouldn’t we do? What damages hair the most?

1. Highlighting

First place isn’t a surprise. The greatest destruction for the hair is highlighting, which incompetently performed is a guarantee of burnt hair. After such procedure hair are permanently damaged.

2. Permanent wave/straightening

On our podium is also perm, which is equally damaging, though, not on every hair it’ll work the same. Here as well, many depends on the skills of person performing the treatment. Fine and weak hair after perm will look like a broomstick.

3. Dyeing

6. Rubbing hair with the towel

Drying hair with a towel by rubbing and tousling is already a habit of many women. Unfortunately, treating hair this way can cause number of catastrophic effects, like split ends, brittleness and pulling hair out, besides, this way it is an easy way to open hair cuticles.

7. Products with alcohol

The greatest possibility of finding alcohol in the cosmetic composition is in case of hairsprays or mousses. Too often use of cosmetics with alcohol can cause hair to be dry, matt and weak.

8. Combing wet hair

It may seem that combing doesn’t have such a big influence on a hair condition. However, combing wet hair may have similar consequences as rubbing them with a towel. Comb hair when they are dry. There is one exception – curly hair.

9. Sleeping with loose/wet hair

During the night our hair are in a great danger of mechanical damage – we can pull, break or damage their structure. The biggest devastation causes sleeping with wet or loose hair.

10. Using wrong elastic band

It is said that tying hair is not good for hair. More significant is what articles do we use for hair tie. The most dangerous are bands with metal elements, which can damage hair and pull them out.
